Kevin Potter Identified in Fatal Stratford Crash, Emilio Valencia Injured

 
STRATFORD, TX (January 10, 2023) – Officers identified 67-year-old Kevin Potter of Duma as the victim who died in a crash on FM 297 on January 4.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Highway 287 about two miles north of Cactus around 12:40 PM.
 
Based on a report, Potter was driving a semi-truck at the time of the crash. At that point, 64-year-old Emilio Valencia, who was driving a semi-truck, ran a stop sign at the intersection. Subsequently, Valencia hit Potter’s truck, causing it to roll over onto its side.
 
As a result, Potter suffered grave injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported him to Moore County Hospital in Dumas, where he later died.
 
Valencia was also taken to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
As of now, the crash remains under investigation.
