82-Year-Old Verne Fallstrom Killed in Crash on Highway 395 at Hawthorne Road in Spokane

 
SPOKANE, WA (January 10, 2023) – Police identified 82-year-old Verne Fallstrom as the victim who died in a crash on the icy roads of Highway 395 on December 22.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near Hawthorne Road. Based on a report, Fallstrom was driving a 1995 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck south on the highway.
 
Fallstrom lost control on the ice, spun across the center of the highway, and struck a 2015 GMC Sierra pickup heading north on the highway.
 
As a result, Fallstrom suffered grave injuries in the incident. Paramedics took him to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, where he later died.
 
A passenger of the GMC was injured and taken to Providence Holy Family Hospital.
 
WSP said Fallstrom was driving too fast for the road conditions. As of now, the investigation into the case remains ongoing.
