Kenwil Silva Killed, Fernando Vidal-Jimenez Injured in Rollover Crash on 20 Freeway [Ranger, TX]

Kenwil Silva Identified in Fatal Rollover Crash in Ranger

 
RANGER, TX (June 1, 2023) – Officers identified 33-year-old Kenwil Silva of Balch Springs who died in a rollover crash on 20 Freeway on May 29.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the victim was a passenger in a 2019 Toyota Tundra pickup that was traveling at an unsafe speed eastbound on the freeway prior to the crash.
 
Based on a report, it was raining and the truck driver, 52-year-old Fernando Vidal-Jimenez of Balch Springs, lost control of the vehicle and drove off the south side of the roadway down an embankment.
 
Then, the truck overturned multiple times and ejected Silva as well as another back-seat passenger who were both not wearing their seatbelts.
 
As a result, Silva suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Vidal-Jimenez and his other two teen passengers sustained serious injuries. Crews transported them to local hospitals for treatment.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
