Nasser Pooya Struck by Vehicle on East Lake Mead Boulevard in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (June 1, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified 75-year-old Nasser Pooya of Las Vegas who suffered severe injuries in a pedestrian accident on East Lake Mead Boulevard on May 22.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened just east of North Pecos Road around 11:30 PM. Based on a report, Pooya was on the south side of Lake Mead Boulevard, trying to cross the street prior to the crash.
 
Officers said he was outside of a crosswalk. At the same time, a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling west on the road. When Pooya crossed, the vehicle struck him.
 
As a result, the victim suffered serious injuries. Emergency crews transported him to University Medical Center for treatment.
 
The SUV driver, Jeffrey Paquette Jr. of Somerset, Massachusetts, remained at the scene and did not show any sign of impairment.
 
At this point, officers continue to investigate the case. In addition, no other details are available.
