Kendra Williams Identified in Fatal Jasper County Crash

 
JASPER COUNTY, TX (September 11, 2023) – Officers identified 33-year-old Kendra Williams of New Orleans who died in a crash on Highway 63 on September 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at County Road 32 around 7:35 AM. Based on a report, a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling west on Highway 63 while a 2013 Toyota 4Runner was at the eastbound lanes prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, 30-year-old Soyinka Shakera Russell of New Orleans attempted to pass a commercial motor vehicle to the left. At that point, her Chevrolet struck the front right portion of the Toyota before traveling off the road. The vehicle then struck a tree and caught fire.
 
As a result, Williams, Russell’s passenger, sustained grave injuries. Crews transported her to Christus Memorial, where she died.
 
Crews also took Russel to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont for treatment.
 
The 63-year-old driver of the Toyota was not hurt.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
