20-Year-Old Karen Servin Killed in Austin Car Crash

 
AUSTIN, TX (December 19, 2022) – 20-year-old Karen Servin died while a 17-year-old was injured in a crash on Highway 290 and FM 973 on Wednesday evening, December 7.

According to Manor Police, they received a report of the fatal car crash involving two SUVs around 10:30 p.m.

Initial investigation revealed that the first SUV – driven by Servin – was heading east on Highway 290. The second SUV – driven by a 17-year-old female – tried to enter the highway from FM 973.

However, the second vehicle rear ended Servin’s SUV, police said.

Servin died at the scene, authorities confirmed.

The 17-year-old driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center.

Meanwhile, authorities closed off the eastbound lanes of Highway 290 as investigation progressed. The lanes have reopened since.
