GLENDALE, AZ (September 24, 2024) — Sisters, Kaliyah Reyes and Delilah Marquez, were hurt in a pedestrian accident on Friday, September 13.
 
According to the Glendale Police, the accident happened on 59th Avenue and Greenway Road shortly before 9:30 p.m.
 
Glendale Police said 12-year-old Kaliyah and 14-year-old Delilah crossed mid-block near 59th Avenue. Then a vehicle struck them.
 
Responding officers transported both to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
 
Frank Madrid, the girl’s uncle, said that Kaliyah is on life support. However, the family is preparing for the worst. In addition, he added Delilah was in a coma for three days after the incident. She woke up on Monday and showed some signs of progress.
 
On Tuesday afternoon, Madrid told a local news source that Kaliyah was taken off life-support.

Glendale Police said that the involved driver remained at the scene and will not face any charges.
