Joseph Richardson Killed, Driver Hospitalized after Motorcycle Crash on College Street near Delmar Drive

 
BEAUMONT, TX (March 21, 2024) — 22-year-old Joseph Paul Richardson, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, died in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday, March 13.
 
According to the Beaumont Police, the accident happened at 5110 College Street near Delmar Drive at about 4:15 p.m.
 
The initial investigation determined that Richardson drove the motorcycle at a high rate of speed westbound on College Street. Then a vehicle moving eastbound turned from the middle turning lane across the westbound lanes.
 
After that, the motorcycle struck the vehicle. The impact ejected Richardson and officers later pronounced him dead on the scene.
 
The driver of the car sustained minor injuries. Paramedics brought them to a local hospital.
 
Authorities temporarily closed College Street from South 23rd Street to Delmar Drive.
 
The investigation of the incident is still underway.
