Joseph Johnson Dies after Victoria Head-On Accident on John Stockbauer Drive

 
VICTORIA, TX (December 5, 2023) — An 80-year-old man identified as Joseph Johnson died in a head-on accident on Monday, November 13.
 
According to the Victoria Police Department, the crash happened on the 5500 block of John Stockbauer Drive.
 
The incident involved a grey 2018 GMC Traverse operated by 48-year-old Serena Cortinas, with Johnson as a passenger. Officers described the other vehicle as a grey 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 37-year-old Alicia Castillo.
 
The crash happened when, for unknown reasons, Cortinas’ vehicle went into southbound traffic. It then resulted in a head-on collision with Castillo’s vehicle.
 
Johnson died due to sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
 
Paramedics rushed Cortinas and Castillo to local hospitals for treatment. Both of them suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The Victoria Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
