Jose Trujillo Arrested after Hitting, Killing Pedestrian in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (April 18, 2023) – Police arrested 42-year-old Jose Trujillo of Long Beach after a fatal hit-and-run accident on 45th Street on April 7.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Atlantic Avenue. Based on a report, Trujillo was driving a 2011 Ford F-150 at a high-speed when he hit a man and two other parked cars.
Upon striking the pedestrian, the impact jammed the victim between the vehicles. Subsequently, Trujillo tried to drive away from scene and ended up crashing into another vehicle. He managed to escape before the police arrived.
As a result, the pedestrian suffered grave injuries in the incident. The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to the hospital, where they later died.
After a brief search, police found and arrested Trujillo for murder, driving under the influence and hit-and-run. His bail has been set at $2,000,000.
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are ongoing.
