Jose Moya Charged in Fatal Bicycle Accident on Colfax Avenue at Joliet Street [Aurora, CO]

Bicyclist Killed in Aurora Bicycle Accident, Jose Moya Arrested

 
AURORA, CO (June 7, 2023) – The Aurora Police Department charged 21-year-old Jose Moya of Denver after a bicycle accident on East Colfax Avenue on May 27.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened at Joliet Street around 11:12 PM. Based on a report, Moya was driving a black 2020 Nissan Altima when he hit a bicyclist.
 
He then fled the scene after the crash.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered severe injuries and died in the incident. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office did not yet release the victim’s identity, pending kin notification.
 
Police found Moya who then admitted of hitting the victim.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
