Jose Cisneros Struck and Killed by Suspected DUI Driver Lucila Garcia on 51st Avenue at Thomas Road in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (September 6, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 25-year-old Jose Cisneros who died in a pedestrian accident on 51st Avenue on September 3.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Thomas Road. Based on a report, Cisneros was crossing 51st Avenue at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle hit him and fled the scene.
 
As a result, the victim sustained serious injuries. Crews with the Phoenix Fire Department performed life saving measures, but Cisneros died at the scene.
 
Officers later found and arrested the driver of the vehicle, Lucila Garcia, for DUI and leaving the scene of a fatal collision.
