Gene Ashley-Aragon Identified in Fatal Car Crash in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 6, 2023) – The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified 17-year-old Gene Daniel Ashley-Aragon who died in a crash on East Flamingo Road on August 28.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Boulder Highway shortly after 6:00 PM. Based on a report, a marked police vehicle was traveling southbound on Boulder Highway prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, it stopped at a red light near the intersection. Once the light turned green, the officer began traveling through Flamingo Road. Then, a vehicle traveling westbound on the road drove through the red light and hit the patrol vehicle.
 
As a result, Ashley-Aragon who was in the second car suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
A Las Vegas Metropolitan police officer sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
 
As of now, the investigation into the crash continues. In addition, no other details are available.
