David Lopez-Villalvazo Killed in Truck Accident on East Grant Road at North Stone Avenue [Tucson, AZ]

David Lopez-Villalvazo Identified in Fatal Tucson Truck Accident

 
TUCSON, AZ (September 6, 2023) – The Tucson Police Department identified 26-year-old David Edward Lopez-Villalvazo who died in a crash on East Grant Road on September 2.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened North Stone Avenue around 2:16 AM. Based on a report, Lopez-Villalvazo was driving a black 2010 Mazda 3 at a high rate of speed north on Stone Avenue prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 2020 Volvo Truck Tractor pulling a white 2022 Utility Trailer was traveling east on Grant Road in the middle lane. Due to unknown reasons, Lopez-Villalvazo ran a red light and hit the Volvo.
 
As a result, the victim sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
Crews took his female passenger to the Banner University Medical Center for treatment.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
