Aaron Johns Crashes Car into after Car Crashes into Phoenix Home, Resident Jose Aguirre Killed
PHOENIX, AZ (August 29, 2023) — A 66-year-old man identified as Jose Martinez Aguirre died after a car crashed into his home on Wednesday, August 23.
According to Phoenix police, the crash took place at a residence near Southern Avenue and 31st Avenue at about 1:00 a.m.
Police said 38-year-old Aaron Johns allegedly lost control of his vehicle as he drove eastbound on Wayland Drive. Then his vehicle crashed into a home.
Family members said the car crashed into Aguirre’s bedroom. Other members of the family were upstairs when the incident happened.
First responders freed Aguirre from underneath the vehicle. Then they transported him to the hospital, where he later died from sustained injuries. His family made a GoFundMe account to help with expenses.
Johns remained on the scene and the police arrested him. Officers believe impairment contributed as a factor. He may potentially face a charge of manslaughter.
