Jorge Martinez Escalante, Guadalupe Lopez Bororquez Die After Train Crash on East Conejo Avenue and South Peach Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 24, 2023) — Married couple Jorge Martinez Escalante and Guadalupe Lopez Bororquez died following a train crash on East Conejo Avenue and South Peach Avenue on Sunday afternoon, February 19.

The fatal incident involved a sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol which received a collision report at around 3:00 p.m.

Authorities said the sedan, driven by 57-year-old Escalante who had 57-year-old Bororquez on board, traveled around the railroad crossing arms that were down.

The sedan then came crossed into a collision course with the northbound train.

The force of impact inflicted fatal injuries to Escalante and Bororquez, both of whom died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the occupants of the train were not injured.

The factors behind the crash remain under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
