Jorge Marin Dies in Fort Stockton Semi-Truck Crash on FM 1053
FORT STOCKTON, TX (December 13, 2022) — 45-year-old Jorge Marin of El Paso died while another driver suffered injuries after a two semi-truck crash on FM 1053 on Thursday afternoon, December 1.
The fatal collision happened at around 1:30 p.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. According to the Pecos County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened between 41st Lane and 43rd Lane on FM 1053.
Authorities said a semi-truck – driven by the Marin – traveled southbound when it went into the northbound lanes for unknown reasons. As Marin drove against oncoming traffic, his semi-truck collided with a northbound semi-truck.
The wreckage of Marin’s vehicle then burst into flames as he died at the scene.
The other driver involved survived the crash with minor injuries.
No additional information is available at this time. However, the cause and factors surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
