TUCSON, AZ (February 22, 2024) — A 25-year-old man identified as Jordan Overton of Maricopa died in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday, February 13.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the one-vehicle fatal pedestrian accident happened at 5:47 a.m.
 
DPS said the crash occurred when 25-year-old Jordan Overton of Maricopa ran into the westbound traffic lanes of the 10 Freeway between Craycroft Road and Valencia Road.
 
When DPS arrived at the area, they tried contacting Overton. They said he ran multiple times into the eastbound and westbound lanes to avoid the trooper who was still in his patrol vehicle.
 
According to DPS, an SUV traveling westbound in the number one lane eventually struck Overton. He died at the scene.
