Daynier Bello-Vazquez Killed in Street Racing Collision in San Antonio

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (February 22, 2024) — Authorities identified 30-year-old Daynier Bello-Vazquez as the man killed in a street racing crash on Sunday, February 4.
 
According to the San Antonio police, the accident happened at Blanco Road and Briarcliff Drive, near Lockhill Selma Road shortly before 2:30 a.m.
 
San Antonio police said Bello-Vazquez traveled southbound on Blanco Road in a Lincoln MKT at a high rate of speed. Then he hit a curb and a utility pole. After that, the vehicle crashed into a fence.
 
The Lincoln eventually came to rest in a backyard and caught fire. First responders arrived at the scene and discovered Bello-Vazquez in the car in critical condition. He died at the scene.
 
A Crime Stoppers report said it appeared that Bello-Vazquez raced alongside a white four-door sedan prior to the accident.
 
The driver of the sedan came back to the scene. However, he did not provide information or help Bello-Vasquez, police said.
 
SAPD urges the public to help in identifying and finding that driver. Crime Stoppers will give a reward of up to $5,000 for information that will lead to an arrest.
