Johnelle Johnson Arrested in Fatal DUI Accident in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 21, 2023) — Officials arrested 46-year-old Johnelle Johnson after a fatal DUI crash on East Tropicana Avenue on Friday, November 17.
 
The accident took place at the intersection of East Tropicana Avenue and South Nellis Boulevard just before 3:00 p.m.
 
Police said Johnson drove an RTC bus eastbound. After that, she ran a red light and struck a man crossing the street on a BMX-style bike.
 
The cyclist described only as a 33-year-old man died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. His name has not yet been released by the Clark County coroner’s office pending family notification.
 
The multiple passengers on the bus at the time did not sustain any injuries.
 
Meanwhile, Johnson showed several signs of impairment.
 
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and court records, officers jailed Johnson on one felony count of DUI and other traffic-related charges.
 
The incident is the 133th traffic death in Metro’s jurisdiction this 2023.
