SCOTTSDALE, AZ (December 2, 2024) — A man identified as 42-year-old Joey Slim died in a pedestrian accident on Monday, November 11.
 
According to the Scottsdale Police, the pedestrian accident took place near Drinkwater Boulevard and Scottsdale Road at about 2:45 a.m.
 
Scottsdale Police said that there are limited details surrounding the incident. However, they said a vehicle fatally hit Slim as he tried to cross the street.
 
Officers and emergency responders arrived at the scene. Then they brought Slim to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
The driver remained at the scene.
 
Officers do not suspect impairment or speeding as factors in the accident. Instead, detectives believe Slim was not in a marked crosswalk when the vehicle hit him.
