Father Joe Alvarez and Daughter Analiea Alvarez Identified in Fatal Reedley Car Crash

 
REEDLEY, CA (April 27, 2023) – Officers identified 33-year-old Joe Alvarez and his daughter, 13-year-old Analiea Alvarez, as the victims who died in a car crash on Highway 180 on April 25.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Alta Avenue. Based on a report, Joe was driving a Jeep Liberty at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on with a Chevrolet pickup truck. The impact threw the victim from the car.
 
As a result, he suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. His daughter, Analiea, died at the hospital.
 
His two other children, a 16-year-old and a 4-year-old, were not hurt. Crews took the Chevy driver to the hospital for treatment.
 
It is not clear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
