Jeanette Baker Identified in Fatal Stalled Crash in Vancouver, Johnny Kienbaum Arrested

 
VANCOUVER, WA (April 27, 2023) – Officers identified 87-year-old Jeanette M. Baker of Vancouver as the victim who died in a rear-end car crash on Highway 14 on April 20.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at milepost 8.
 
Based on a report, 38-year-old Johnny M. Kienbaum of Kelso stopped his Jeep Liberty in the left lane after it ran out of gas. At that point, a Toyota Camry driven by 79-year-old Marguerite V. Brooks of Vancouver crashed into the rear of the SUV.
 
As a result, Baker, a passenger in Brooks’ car, died in the incident.
 
Brooks and her three other passengers, 81-year-old Helen Keller, 87- year-old Sandra Taylor, and 88- year-old Patricia Turner suffered injuries. Crews took them to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for treatment.
 
Kienbaum and his passenger, 15-year-old Jayden L. Kienbaum, were not injured. Investigators referred a charge of second-degree negligent driving against Johnny Kienbaum.
 
At this point, an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
