Colorado Springs Pedestrian Accident on Airport Road, Jhuan Smith Arrested for DUI

 
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (April 27, 2023) – The Colorado Springs Police Department arrested Jhuan Ruiz Smith after a pedestrian accident in the 4700 block of Airport Road on April 23.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the collision happened just west of Sand Creek Drive around 4:32 AM.
 
Based on a report, Smith was heading westbound in the left lane on Airport Road prior to the crash. At the same time, a pedestrian was crossing the street. Due to unknown circumstances, the suspect struck the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered injuries in the incident. Crews transported the victim to the hospital for treatment.
 
Officers arrested Smith for DUI and vehicular assault.
