Three Injured in Phoenix Car Crash, Jesus Soto Arrested for Hit-and-Run

 
PHOENIX, AZ (March 6, 2023) – Phoenix Police officers arrested 23-year-old Jesus Soto after a hit-and-run that injured three people on 15th Avenue on February 26.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Union Hills Drive around 1:05 PM. Based on a report, Soto was driving a Kia Optima eastbound on Union Hills Drive prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a Toyota Prius was attempting to turn left southbound onto 15th Avenue. Due to high speed, Soto’s car struck the Prius before it collided with a pole.
 
As a result, the driver of the Prius suffered a serious head injury. Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital in critical condition.
 
In addition, crews also took two other passengers in Soto’s car to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Soto left the scene and called the registered owner of the Kia and Glendale police to report the crash.
 
Officers arrived at Soto’s home and took him back to the crash scene in Phoenix. They booked him into Maricopa County Jail with one count of fleeing the scene of an injury collision.
