BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 30, 2023) – The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified 37-year-old Jesus Alberto Nelson Jr. of Bakersfield as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on Chester Avenue on March 23.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at M Street around 7:50 PM.
 
Based on a report, Nelson was on the street at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck him and left the scene.
 
As a result, Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Officials did not yet release any details regarding the involved vehicle.
