Carey Rufenacht Identified in Fatal Head-On Crash Involving Ramona Unified School District School Bus on Mussey Grade Road in Ramona

 
RAMONA, CA (March 30, 2023) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified 55-year-old Carey Rufenacht of Ramona as the victim who died in a head-on crash on Mussey Grade Road on March 24.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly after 4:00 PM.
 
Based on a report, Rufenacht was traveling south on the road when she lost control of her 2003 Chevrolet 2500. It was on a curving stretch of Mussey when she veered into the northbound lane and collided with an oncoming Ramona Unified School District school bus.
 
As a result, Rufenacht suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
It was not clear if the two children inside the bus were hurt.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
