Jeremy Hess and Sergio Delgado Die in Car Accident on FM 907 and Texas Road

 
EDINBURG, TX (May 8, 2024) — Two men identified as Jeremy John Hess and Sergio Delgado died in a fiery crash on Tuesday, April 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal accident took place on FM 907 and Texas Road just before 10:00 a.m.
 
A preliminary investigation revealed a red Ford Escape driven by 40-year-old Amanda Marie Bender moved eastbound on Texas Road.
 
At the same time, a red Nissan Sentra moved southbound on FM 907 and a brown Cadillac traveled northbound on the same road.
 
Texas DPS said Bender failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign. That caused the vehicle to crash with the Nissan. After that, the Nissan side-swiped the Cadillac and veered off to the southeast corner of FM 907 and Texas Road. It ended up engulfed in flames.
 
First responders brought the ejected male passenger of the Ford Escape to a hospital where he died. They identified him as 43-year-old Jeremy John Hess of Wisconsin.
 
The driver of the Nissan identified as 29-year-old Sergio Delgado of Edinburg died at the scene.
 
Authorities arrested Bender on two counts of criminal negligent homicide charges. She remains in jail in Hidalgo County.
