PHOENIX, AZ (April 1, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 21-year-old Jaylynn James who died in a pedestrian accident on 35th Avenue on March 22.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Baseline Road around 3:45 AM. Based on a report, James was attempting to walk across Baseline Road outside all marked crosswalks before the accident.
 
At that point, a vehicle struck her. Video from the scene appeared to show a body lying in the middle of the road with closures around the crash scene.
 
As a result, James suffered grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene after the collision and did not show signs of impairment.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
