Driver Ryan Wallace and Child Ulises Montoya Killed in Austin School Bus Accident

 
AUSTIN, TX (April 1, 2024) — A 5-year-old boy identified as Ulises Rodriguez Montoya was one of two people killed in a school bus crash on March 29.
 
According to Hays Consolidated Independent School District, the incident took place along Highway 21 near the Travis/Bastrop County line on Friday afternoon.
 
The district said a school bus carried 44 pre-kindergarten students from Tom Green Elementary School and 11 adults coming from a field trip to the Bastrop Zoo.
 
However, a cement truck swerved into the bus lane and struck the school bus. Montoy died due to the injuries sustained in the incident.
 
Another driver, identified as 33-year-old Ryan Wallace from Bastrop, Texas, also died as a result of the collision.
 
Reports said a total of 51 people suffered injuries in the accident. However, their conditions are not immediately available.
 
Loved ones made a GoFundMe page to help with Ulises’ funeral.
