Jane Park Dies Days After Crash on California State Route 89
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (August 22, 2022) — 66-yea-old Jane Park died days after sustaining injuries from a crash on California State Route 89 on Monday afternoon, August 8.
The fatal incident occurred at Rubicon Drive at around 1:50 p m., according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities said Jane was riding a 2018 Honda, driven by 75-year-old Jong Park, heading southbound on Highway 29.
Jong then made an “unsafe” right turn on the northbound lane, despite oncoming traffic. However, he lost control and the vehicle went off the road before slamming into a milepost marker and two trees.
All three occupants of the Honda, including 44-year-old Young Park, suffered injuries in the collision.
Jane suffered internal injuries as she was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. She was later pronounced dead on Friday, August 12.
Jong, the driver of the Honda, and Young both survived the crash with minor injuries.
The factors surrounding the crash remain under investigation at this time as the CHP continues to work on the scene.
