Jamie Dodge Struck and Killed by DUI Hit-and-Run Driver in Palm Desert

 
PALM DESERT, CA (April 18, 2023) – Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies identified 34-year-old Jamie Dodge of Palm Desert as the victim who died in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 111 on April 12.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Deep Canyon Road around 9:30 PM. Based on a report, Dodge was in the lanes at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck him. The driver – a 21-year-old Palm Desert man – left the scene afterwards.
 
As a result, Dodge suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
 
Officers found and arrested the driver of the vehicle in Beaumont. The Sheriff Department said the driver showed signs of drug impairment and was charged with felony hit-and-run, felony driving under the influence causing injury, and vehicular manslaughter.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are ongoing.
