78-Year-Old James Renella Fatally Struck in Tucson Pedestrian Accident
TUCSON, AZ (April 18, 2023) — A 78-year-old man identified as James George Renella died in a pedestrian accident on Tuesday, March 28.
According to Tucson Police Department spokespeople, just after 7:00 p.m. Renella tried to cross East Glenn Street near North Richey Boulevard.
After that, an eastbound blue Nissan cargo van struck him.
Police said the 45-year-old driver of the van stopped at the area. The driver cooperated with the police while they conducted an on-scene investigation. TPD says the driver was not under the influence.
Renella received treatment at Banner-University Medical Center where he passed away on March 30, two days after being hit.
The investigation of the incident is ongoing.
