Mariann Barton Hurt after Bicycle Hit-and-Run in Seabrook

 
SEABROOK, TX (April 18, 2023) — A woman identified as Mariann Barton suffered injuries after a hit-and-run bicycle accident on Saturday, April 8.
 
According to the police, the crash occurred happened at around 11:20 a.m. in the 3600 block of NASA Parkway. Police said that Barton had been in the bike lane at the time of the accident.
 
However, a vehicle clipped her tricycle, and the driver fled without giving her aid or information.
 
Medics rushed Barton to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Barton’s dog was with her during the incident and was not injured. A firefighter brought the dog to the fire station. They later reunited, and Barton said her dog and bike were all she has.
 
Jordan Hidalgo, a Seabrook volunteer firefighter, posted about the incident. Then the community gave Barton a helping hand and several people decided to give her a new bike.
 
Police continue to search for the driver. Police said Barton reported that the vehicle that struck her was a black Yukon Denali. However, a witness reported seeing a white vehicle.
