James Evans Fatally Struck in Midland Pedestrian Accident
MIDLAND, TX (May 3, 2023) — A 35-year-old Midland man identified as James Mathew Evans died in a pedestrian crash on Friday, April 21.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the incident happened at around 4:40 a.m. on State Highway 158, southeast of Midland.
A DPS report said Evans walked eastbound on SH 158 in the main lane of travel. Then a 2019 Ford F-250 driven by a 30-year-old Denton man also traveling eastbound on SH 158 near mile marker 296 tried to avoid Evans.
However, the vehicle’s passenger side mirror hit Evans.
Emergency responders pronounced Evans dead at the scene.
No other information is known at this time. However, an investigation is ongoing.
