James Michael Butts, Kyle Lee Nettles Killed in Midland Car Crash

 
MIDLAND, TX (May 3, 2023) — Two men, 28-year-old Kyle Lee Nettles and 25-year-old James Michael Butts died in a crash on Tuesday, April 25.
 
According to the Midland Police Department, at around 6:54 a.m. officers responded to a two-car crash in the 7200 block of Briarwood Avenue.
 
An investigation showed that Nettles drove a white Ford Fusion against traffic headed east in the westbound lane of Briarwood Avenue.
 
At the same time, Butts drove a white Toyota Camry westbound. However, Butts did not have time to react and struck Nettles.
 
Emergency responders pronounced Nettles and Butts, who are both Midland residents, dead at the scene. Officials have notified their next of kin.
 
There were no passengers in both cars. However, authorities continue to investigate the incident.
