Jamal Garrett Dies in Fresno Garbage Truck Crash

 
FRESNO, CA (August 18, 2022) — Jamal Garret died while another driver sustained injuries following a crash near Chestnut Avenue and Lane Avenue on Thursday morning, August 11.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the fatal collision happened around 9:00 a.m. and involved a white Buick and a garbage truck.

Authorities said that Garrett was driving the westbound Buick on Lane Avenue at a high speed when he collided into the front portion of the garbage truck.

The Buick then spun out of control and landed in the front lawn of a home within the area.

Officials pronounced Garrett dead at the scene.

The driver of the garbage truck survived the crash but suffered injuries. However, the driver did not need to be hospitalized.

Meanwhile, the residents of the affected home were safe as no one was outside when the Buick came to a screeching halt at the front lawn.
