Pedestrian Dies after Fremont Hit-and-Run on Interstate 880

 
FREMONT, CA (August 18, 2022) — A female pedestrian died following a hit-and-run on Interstate Highway 880 early Thursday, August 11.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident took place on northbound I-880, just south of the off-ramp at Fremont Boulevard.

At around 1:50 a.m., authorities said there was a report of a woman in the right-hand side of the highway.

Officials did not manage to identify the involved vehicle in the collision, but they are suspecting that it might be a semi-truck or a car hauler.

Furthermore, the possibility of the driver being unaware of hitting the female pedestrian is being considered by the CHP.

To that end, authorities are encouraging drivers who traveled along the area to check their vehicles for damages, which could be related to the crash.
