Woman Killed in Houston Accident, Israel Cocotl Arrested for DUI

 
HOUSTON, TX (February 15, 2023) – The Houston Police Department arrested 34-year-old Israel Arevalo Cocotl for DUI after a fatal accident on Galveston Road on February 8.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Edgebrook Drive around 10:00 PM. Based on a report, Cocotl was driving a black Ford F-150 pickup truck prior to the crash.
 
Authorities said he got into an argument with a 25-year-old woman riding in the passenger seat. Due to unknown reasons, the woman exited the moving vehicle and landed on the ground. At that point, the truck hit her.
 
As a result, emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene. Officials did not release her name, pending kin notification.
 
Authorities said Cocotl was intoxicated at the time of the crash. They took him into custody for DWI.
 
As of now, no other details are available. In addition, the case remains under investigation.
