Isaiah Orona Causes Crash on 215 Freeway at Linnel Lane in Murrieta
MURRIETA, CA (May 8, 2023) – Officers confirmed that 26-year-old Isaiah F. Orona of Menifee suffered serious injuries in a suspected DUI accident on northbound 215 Freeway on May 1.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Linnel Lane around 3:15 AM. Based on a report, Orona was driving a 2020 Dodge Charger on the freeway at an unknown speed at the time of the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, he made an unsafe turn and slammed into the concrete center divider. Subsequently, he lost control and allowed the Charger to veer back into lanes, colliding with a 2004 Hyundai. After that, the Dodge veered in the opposite direction and collided with a 2017 Kia Sportage with a family of four inside.
As a result, Orona was seriously hurt in the incident. In addition, a 6-year-old boy and his father in the Kia suffered major injuries. The 55-year-old Menifee man driving the Hyundai sustained minor injuries.
Police said evidence confirmed Orona was intoxicated. They took him into custody on suspicion of DUI at the hospital.
