Isabella Morales Dead in Commerce City Pedestrian Accident
COMMERCE CITY, CO (October 1, 2024) — 18-year-old Isabella Salas Morales died after a pedestrian accident on Friday, September 13.
According to the Commerce City Police Department, the accident occurred near the 5100 block of East 64th Avenue on Friday night.
Commerce City Police said Morales tried to cross the 64th Avenue outside a crosswalk. Then a juvenile driving a pickup truck struck her.
The 15-year-old boy, who drove with a learner’s permit, left the scene. Yet, he later returned with his parents.
Meanwhile, Morales sustained severe injuries and paramedics transported her to the hospital in critical condition. However, on September 18, her family confirmed in a GoFundMe account that she died.
Police said they charged the 15-year-old with hit-and-run and driving without a license. Although, he did eventually go back to the scene. They said because he returned, the district attorney might not proceed with the hit-and-run charge.
Commerce City police said they will continue to investigate the case.
During this time of profound loss, our law firm offers our sincerest condolences to the family of Isabella Morales.
