20-Year-Old Hunter Shekels Identified in Fatal Yorba Linda Crash, 19-Year-Old Noah Watson Arrested
YORBA LINDA, CA (January 4, 2022) – The Orange County District Attorney’s Office identified 20-year-old Hunter Shekels as the victim who died in a crash on Yorba Ranch Road on December 16.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Shekels was a passenger in a Ford F-350 pickup traveling on the road at speeds of 100 mph prior to the crash. Then, the driver – 19-year-old Noah Watson of Yorba Linda – hit the center median on Yorba Ranch and then crashed into a tree.
As a result, Shekels suffered grave injuries and died in the crash. His family set up a GoFundMe account to help them with funeral expenses.
Watson was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Based on a report, deputies suspected Watson of driving under the influence and speeding. They said they also found a loaded, unregistered firearm under the driver’s seat of Watson’s pickup truck.
As of now, an investigation is ongoing to locate and identify the vehicle and its driver.
