EL PASO, TX (January 4, 2022) – El Paso Police Department officers confirmed that one person suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Loop 375 on December 23.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at the exit to Fonseca Drive.
 
Based on a report, the victim was trying to cross the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle hit the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries. Preliminary reports showed paramedics took the victim to the hospital for treatment.
 
Officers did not yet confirm if the person that was hit was a migrant trying to cross the busy highway traffic. Neighbors in the area said migrants regularly try to cross the highway after they enter the country.
 
As of now, this crash is still under investigation.
