Henry Rodriguez and Martir Augusto Killed, Jamie Kmiec and Vallecious Martinez Injured in Crash on Highway 6 [Waller County, TX]

WALLER COUNTY, TX (March 22, 2024) – Officials identified 31-year-old Henry Rodriguez and 25-year-old Martir Augusto from Houston who died in a crash on Highway 6 on March 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at FM 2979 at approximately 9:00 AM. Based on a report, 38-year-old Jamie Kmiec of Hemstead was driving a Toyota when he stopped at the stop sign on FM 2979.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he failed to yield the right of way and hit a Chevrolet heading northbound on Highway 6. The Chevrolet then rolled over several times. Rodriguez and Augusto were passengers in the Chevy.
 
As a result, the victims were ejected and killed in the incident.
 
Woodard said two passengers in the Chevrolet were killed after being ejected from the vehicle.
 
The driver of the Chevrolet, 36-year-old Vallecious Martinez from Houston, sustained serious injuries. Crews took Kmiec to Scott and White Hospital in College Station for minor injuries.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
