Paul Resendez Arrested in Waco Police Pursuit Accident

 
WACO, TX (March 21, 2024) — Authorities arrested Paul Ray Resendez after a pursuit crash that injured three people on March 14.
 
According to the Waco Police Department, officers tried to pull over Resendez in the 3300 block of Speight Avenue.
 
However, he refused to stop, and the pursuit began.
 
While chasing Resendez, the patrol vehicle that initiated the pursuit collided with another vehicle at Franklin Avenue and Valley Mills Drive.
 
Waco PD said paramedics rushed two officers and one person who was in the car being pursued to the hospital. They all sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The affidavit said the arresting officer noticed Resendez behind a beauty school at the 3100 block of Franklin Avenue. They then pursued him on foot through a warehouse, and he eventually ran into a dead end, where they finally arrested him.
 
According to the McLennan County Jail records, Resendez had an outstanding assault arrest warrant. They also charged him with evading arrest or detention, resulting in serious bodily injury. He remained in jail as of Friday.
