Helena River Identified in Single-Vehicle Crash in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (March 18, 2024) – Officials identified 31-year-old Helena River who died in a rollover crash in the 1000 block of East Telegraph Pass Road on March 7.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near South Mountain. Based on a report, River was driving an SUV northbound on Telegraph Pass Road at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the woman lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway. Subsequently, the SUV crashed and rolled over several times before it landed on its roof.
 
As a result, River suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Officers found two juveniles with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
