Haider Mamin Identified in Fatal Car Crash in Milam County

 
MILAM COUNTY, TX (August 17, 2023) – Officials identified 61-year-old Haider Ali Mamin who died in a head-on crash on Farm-to-Market 485 on August 2.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about one-and-a-half miles east of Branchville around 3:50 PM. Based on a report, Mamin was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Express eastbound on the road prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a 19-year-old man was driving a 2017 Dodge Durango west on the road. Officers said Mamin swerved into the opposite lane to avoid collision. As the teen swerved, a crash between the two vehicles occurred.
 
As a result, Mamin sustained grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Emergency crews transported the teen to Baylor Scott & White with injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
