One Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on Highway 76 in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (June 13, 2023) – The Oceanside Police Department arrested 29-year-old Guillermo Sanchez Pacheco of Oceanside following a fatal crash on Highway 76 on June 4.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Airport Road around 1:54 AM. Based on a report, Pacheco was driving a 2003 Nissan Maxima eastbound on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree on the south shoulder of the roadway.
 
As a result, a passenger in his vehicle died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the name of the 30-year-old male victim, pending kin notification.
 
As of now, officers are investigating the incident. In addition, they arrested Pacheco on suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.
