Passenger Gerardo Gonzalez-Rocha Dies after Vehicle Hydroplanes, Crashes in Coryell County

 
CORYELL COUNTY, TX (May 17, 2023) – Troopers identified 32-year-old Gerardo Gonzalez-Rocha of Waco who died in a crash on Highway 36 on May 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about 3.5 miles east of Jonesboro at approximately 6:00 PM. Based on a report, the victim was at the backseat of a 2016 Ford F-350 that was speeding on the wet roads prior to the crash.
 
Subsequently, the vehicle hydroplaned and crashed into an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet truck towing a trailer.
 
As a result, Gonzalez-Rocha sustained severe injuries and died in the incident.
 
Emergency crews took both drivers of the vehicles to Baylor Scott & White in Temple for their injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
