Francis Durham Killed and Sandra Bingham Hospitalized after Ringgold Semi-Truck Accident

 
RINGGOLD, TX (October 30, 2024) — 54-year-old Francis Leann Durham, of Eagletown, Oklahoma, died in an accident on Tuesday, October 15.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the semi-truck crash occurred on Highway 81 near Moody Road just north of Ringgold on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The initial investigation determined a Chevy Traverse was stopped at a temporary traffic light on northbound Highway 81. Then a Freightliner hauling a semi-trailer failed to slow down and crashed into the rear of the passenger vehicle.
 
The driver of the Traverse identified as 34-year-old Sandra Bingham, of Ryan, Oklahoma, sustained incapacitating injuries. Paramedics transported her to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
 
Meanwhile, emergency responders brought Durham, a passenger in the car, to Nocona General Hospital. Medical officers pronounced her dead.
 
Neither individual in the Traverse wore a seatbelt.
 
There were no reports of whether the semi driver sustained injuries in the incident.
 
Officers temporarily closed the road when a crash team investigated the crash site. It is now open again.
